We use SharePoint 2010 and have made a couple of minor changes to the out of the box features

Schools becomes Education

added a field for former employment

adding the ability for staff to include their social info such as Twitter handle, Facebook or LinkedIn link etc. – this is to align with a separate project that will provide staff with social business tools for discussions, communities etc.

We are looking to see what others are doing in terms of the creation of People Pages/Employee profiles and the content. Does anyone have a template or examples of a page you have created at your company that works well that you would like to share? Thanks very much.
