Overall purpose
Based in London, the purpose of this role is to lead, develop and champion the knowledge management competency and methodology across the global organisation.
This capability is of critical importance to our business long term as we strive to operate as a truly global business, and has Executive level visibility due to this.
The initial role focus will be to build on existing technology and systems and put in place an approach which ensures essential business knowledge is being identified, captured and shared. This will require the individual to be able to devise a strategy that covers the process and people aspects of knowledge management.
Although some output will impact on what we deliver for our clients, this is not a client-facing role. |
Key Responsibilities
The Knowledge Manager is responsible for planning and directing the knowledge management strategy for the company worldwide.
This crucial business enabler is part of a long term Executive sponsored programme to transform today’s business into one that truly operates globally and maximises the benefit of its global footprint through the sharing of best practice and business knowledge.
In common with most knowledge management leadership roles the following specific responsibilities apply:
· Lead the development and delivery of a knowledge management strategy for the entire organization, covering how we define, deliver and manage our knowledge and in addition enable the business to learn from this · Develop a measurement approach to show adoption of the knowledge management strategy and estimated ROI · Ensure the KM strategy is effectively communicated to the business via the various channels available · Assist other key strategic programme / project owners (at a global and market level) in execution of the KM strategy · Collaborate with, and coach, programme / project owners to assess the need for knowledge management across these pieces of work, in order to maximize client value and internal efficiency · Work directly on key KM projects in the business (at global and market level) as time permits · To engage fully in the goals and content of each project and whenever possible contribute with ideas as well as process · Serve as a challenger and ‘voice of the employee’ in knowledge management. · To contribute directly to the development of company-wide knowledge and best practice content · To ensure our ongoing KM strategy incorporates and builds upon KM best practices and learnings from outside the business |
