Yeah, it amazes me that even within organisations – where one would expect people to be working towards a common goal – information is often isolated inside these weird silos.
There’s lots of ways that good data management practice facilitates innovation and analysis. One doesn’t have to consider it an all or nothing approach. Even partially absorbing open data practice has benefits…

Thanks for this great session Gavin. Opening up information as a whole has been a topic of conversation very recently in my organization. The current cultural mindset is to keep data in silos and not to share cross-department or even to our customers.
I've shared this information and hope to keep the conversation going! We never know who will benefit from our data when we're done using it. |
