Hey John,

My original plan was to use Microsoft Forms for the surveys (which we already have and I use frequently in my lessons learned process and in virtual KM portal scavenger hunts), but leave it to Microsoft not to provide integration between Forms and AD. It does make it easy to export the results to Excel, and would make it easy for me to combine the ONA survey with questions for a general knowledge audit. I was also going to use NodeXL to represent the data. Do you have a favorite graphing tool? Btw, I saw your new class on knowledge transfer and am hoping to take it late this year or early next year, if it's offered again at that time. It would be helpful to have that under my belt before I kick off a new program for exiting employees. Both ONASurveys and Polinode allow uyou to upload data pulled from employee data. Respondents then can search or select names from the master list. No manual reconciliation of names should be required. .patti

Is anyone aware of an ONA (organizational network analysis) tool that can be integrated with Active Directory (or can leverage data from AD)? I'm in the early stages of planning an ONA for our ~1500 employees and am looking for a way to validate employee data entry (names of other employees) to save myself the pain of having to clean it up manually after the survey. In other words, I'd like to allow survey participants to choose employees from a people picker rather than having them type in names manually. Hi Soha,
I recently wrote a chapter about KM and innovation/creativity for the book KM Matters, you can find a chapter excerpt here http://www.ageofartists.org/how-a-creative-mindset-can-be-adopted-in-our-organizations/ and you can get a free PDF of the book here https://www.johngirard.net/kmmatters/ Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. Hi Bill, Thanks a lot Bill ! it is very useful. As for the KMML model, I love the part that distinguishes the content (codified forms) from the other components, which really makes sense. For the COP maturity level model, it is really beneficial, and I think it can be one of the measures for knowledge utilization in the organization, where the target could be going up this maturity level. Best, Soha.

Hi All,
I am working in a governmental organization. We have a KM unit, KM strategy and tools. We have recently expanded our scope to be a KM and Innovation management (KIM) department. Accordingly we are working on modifying our strategy to be KM and Innovation (KIM) strategy. We are currently assessing our KM maturity and Innovation readiness level, and conducting analysis for the strategy.
What am looking for now is to find: - Simple yet effective KM and Innovation models ( that combine both KM and innovation) to build/ base the KIM strategy on. - Assessment Tools that measure both KM maturity and Innovation readiness levels (through a single tool) - Any practical models/ examples/ case-studies of integrating KM and Innovation.
I am keen to focus on simple, focused and practical models and avoid theoretical and complicated ones, so our approach is understood across the organization and buy-in is gained.
Thanks a lot :) Soha.
