Jean Graef <jean.graef@...>
The Montague Institute will hold a teleconference roundtable discussion on November 7, 2007 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Eastern time.
The main topic of discussion is how to explain the Semantic Web to managers in order to get funding approval for real world applications. For registration details and a list of discussion topics, see http://www.montague.com/roundtable39.html.
Christine Connors of Intuit and Kevin Lynch of Raytheon describe a 6 week pilot project on expertise location to show the power of the Semantic Web in a business environment.
A basic primer, "Ontologies & the Semantic Web," is also being offered November 6, 2007 via teleconference. See http://www.montague.com/primer5.htm. This teleconference is designed as a backgrounder for the November 7 roundtable "Six weeks to the Semantic Web." Its purpose is to orient you to the roundtable context and help you understand the concepts and tools discussed. This session takes a big-picture view of the topic and is designed for the layman, not the computer scientist.
Space is limited, so you should reserve your spot early.
