KM Certifications #certification

I'm looking for options for KM certifications that other KM practitioners have earned and found to be useful. Depending on what I learn I may propose including pursuit of one in my annual development plan. Thanks for any input.

Here are some additional personal thoughts on certification based on my experience as a KM practitioner:
1. It seems hard to understand how a certification can be meaningful involving a body of knowledge that has yet to be organized and codified...not even at the basic lexicon level. 2. In addition, meaningful certification programs are accredited by a recognized national or international accreditation organization. The process involves much rigor and none of the certification programs appear to have this accreditation. 3. I always question the concept that in order to be certified, one must take the prescribed training offered only by the organization offering the certification. To me this seems to be about generating revenue for training first, and “certification” next. 4. If a certification program is truly legitimate representing mastery of an accepted and accredited body of knowledge, it shouldn’t matter where one achieved mastery of the knowledge to be able to sit for the certification or to undergo whatever is required in the certification process. This has not been the case with existing programs claiming to provide “certification.” 5. Certification is meaningful if it is accepted broadly as recognition of the mastery of a subject matter area, like a CPA. Do not believe this is true of existing “certification” programs. There are three or more “certifications” offered in multiple programs.
