This question arises regularly. For my views, the views of others, and links to previous discussions in this community, see Are you certifiable in knowledge management?

Hi Sandra,

Yes, the KM Institute has offered a number of KM Certifications since 2001, with over 10,000 trained since then.

Our primary offering is the Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), which satisfies the roles for KM Team and organizational KM Leadership.
A new Master CKM in 2020 will focus on organizational leadership, especially for transformational leadership.

Other certs include:
Certified Knowledge Specialist (CKS) - Implementation mastery of a number of major strategic KM initiative types, e.g., Taxonomy, Info/K Architecture, K Transfer & Retention/Continuity, Agile, and more.

Certified Knowledge Practitioner (CKP) - Core master of KM Essentials for KM Team membership.

Personal Knowledge Manager (PKM)™ - Knowledge Worker mastery in the K Age.

Courses are offered in public, open enrollment workshops around the world, and in customized, private workshops anywhere.

We also offer a self-paced version of all of the above.

Check out www.kminstitute.org for more information.

Best wishes in your KM career, but heed our KM Methodology which itemizes some essentials at the outset including 'Learn Before'.
