TO: SIKM Leaders Community
Today we held our 177th monthly call. Here are the details.
Thanks to Tom for presenting, to those who asked questions and made comments, and to all those who attended. Please continue the discussion here by replying to this thread. [5/19/2020 11:00:20 AM] Tom Barfield: https://www.slideshare.net/SIKM/tom-barfield-navigating-knowledge-to-the-user [5/19/2020 11:15:13 AM] Dennis L Thomas: How do you see Keeeb working in conjunction with SIKM? [5/19/2020 11:15:35 AM] Retha: How does Keeeb handle something that fits into different categories? Do you have to duplicate it? [5/19/2020 11:19:35 AM] Stacie Brenkovich: Are these all manually driven in terms of curation or can they dynamically populate based off tagging? [5/19/2020 11:21:08 AM] Bill Kaplan -Working KnowledgeCSP: Is the glitch with the create ID fixed? You go into a loop. [5/19/2020 11:23:25 AM] Ann: Same thing happens for me. [5/19/2020 11:22:15 AM] Dennis L Thomas: I like the idea of moving from folders to some other format? [5/19/2020 11:33:42 AM] Retha: Hi Tom, from a security perspective, how does it work ito 'mashing up' external content and content from my laptop into the Keeeb interface? Where is the index about content on my laptop hosted? On my laptop or on the Keeeb server somewhere? Does the index include my personal information or can I set the crawling to index only my Research folders? [5/19/2020 11:36:08 AM] ivanbutina: @JC: I asked the same question to KM colleagues at the UN and then thought that WEF might be better positioned for what you are saying. [5/19/2020 11:43:15 AM] Jean-Claude Monney: World Economic Forum Link to COVID-19 info. Look for the strategic Map. https://www.weforum.org/covid-action-platform [5/19/2020 11:45:44 AM] Dennis L Thomas: It looks like we are talking mostly about data (documents, etc.), Because of the voulme, I think the next step is a concept driven indexing system. [5/19/2020 11:48:35 AM] Catherine Shinners: What about unstructured content in social conversations (in MSFT Teams, Yammer, other platforms?) Social conversation # tagging are those considered signals? [5/19/2020 11:57:13 AM] Catherine Shinners: Climate change is also an important area. [5/19/2020 11:57:18 AM] ivanbutina: Yes, great suggestion! [5/19/2020 11:58:23 AM] Dennis L Thomas: What is the link to the knowledge technology topic?? I would like to attend. Thanks, Dennis This was an interesting session. [5/19/2020 11:58:51 AM] ivanbutina: @dennis: you need to register to the Forum and then you get it [5/19/2020 11:58:57 AM] Katrina Pugh: https://sites.google.com/view/2020-midwest-km-symposium/sessions [5/19/2020 11:59:02 AM] Retha: Thanks for an interesting session. on your slide 4 there needs to be a whole new branch on response effectiveness. we need collect intelligence on the impact of models (especially using new models that aren't really developed fully) media coverage, impact and effectiveness of lock downs, impact on social structures (i.e. that we discovered that schools prevent hunger in kids and detect child abuse, impact of worship practices, impact on socialization practices (dating, shopping, sports), economic impact (unemployment, production, etc.) hunt for teatments and vaccines, etc. I think this is much more valuable intelligence than what's listed.....murray jennex -----Original Message-----
