Hi Stan,
I've had a problem with access to the session today. Here's what I see (screenshot below) I eventually dialed in.
Sorry, would like to fix this for next time, maybe I'm missing something...

Today we held our 179th monthly call.
Here are the details.

Thanks to Hank for presenting, to those who asked questions and made comments, and to all those who attended. Please continue the discussion here by replying to this thread.

Group Chat

[7/21/2020 11:17:21 AM] Tom Barfield: I agree - business pilot approach is the way to get started.  At some point there is probably a need for a hybrid top down and business focus needed.

[7/21/2020 11:24:41 AM] Ginetta: So @Hank you found the KM team within your organization. You did not have the need to hire someone from outside. Is that correct?

[7/21/2020 11:33:23 AM] Stan Garfield: N Cs of Topic X

[7/21/2020 11:37:47 AM] Pavel Kraus: In our SKMF.net roundtable discussions on securing KM jobs, we ended up with the strategy of linking KM activities directly to value creation. That makes KMers indispensable.

[7/21/2020 11:38:44 AM] Andrew Trickett: Hank a good database, are you able to do some weeding so that the lessons are still relevant to peoples day to day work.?

[7/21/2020 11:39:27 AM] Ginetta: @Hank: slide 15/16 -> did you create specific task force (with x number of people) for each KM component?

[7/21/2020 11:39:27 AM] Ginetta: @Hank: slide 17 -> how did you create the KPI? Where did you get those numbers to say "increased % of..", "Reduced time ...". Did you use IT backend data or survey or?

[7/21/2020 11:49:18 AM] John: congrats again on MIKE! :)

[7/21/2020 11:49:29 AM] Ginetta: Great work Hank!

[7/21/2020 11:49:29 AM] Ginetta: Thank you for sharing!

[7/21/2020 11:51:31 AM] Luis Suarez: Hi Hank, if you were to start today with PDO's KM programme (as opposed to 4 years ago), what would you have done different and why?

[7/21/2020 11:51:46 AM] Ginetta: @Hank: when you went to the board of directors did they say you "wow go ahead , here you are the funds, the people, etc"? Or did you get some resistance? Can you share with us a couple of tough questions and the winning answer you provided?

[7/21/2020 11:56:09 AM] Luis Suarez: Thanks, Hank, for the answer! :)

[7/21/2020 11:56:09 AM] Luis Suarez: Thanks much, indeed, for the presentation, Hank! That was really inspiring! Well done! (clap) (clap) (clap)

[7/21/2020 11:59:48 AM] Bob Farricker: Great presentation

[7/21/2020 12:00:00 PM] Eve Porter-Zuckerman: thank you!

[7/21/2020 12:00:01 PM] Heather Fox: Thanks Hank--great presentation

[7/21/2020 12:00:05 PM] Andrew Trickett: Thank you

[7/21/2020 12:00:06 PM] Susan Genden: Thank you!

[7/21/2020 12:00:10 PM] Ginetta: Yes clap clap! Thanks!

Hank Malik's presentation/discussion on the KM program at Petroleum Development Oman was a robust case study of a particular industry/company - it had something for seasoned KMers, but would be quite helpful for those new to KM with guidance for approaches, tools and capabilities building.

If you missed the live discussion, I recommend listening to the recording and viewing the slides when convenient.

Hello Hank,
again thank you for sharing your experience which to me seems a wonderful example of Best Practice.

Question for you: how long did you and your team take to reach the positive and current status quo?

Thanks and regards,
Ginetta
