Content Curation & Content Marketing #curation #content-management
Srinivas Prasad
Hi Am caught-up with reading some stuff on Content Curation & Content Marketing. Understand that these are techniques that have seen some success in the marketing world, with numerous tools for content curation such as Curata, Kapost, TrapIt etc.
Just a thought, has anybody used these techniques for better adoption of KM systems. Is this something that has been tried? Would be interesting to know if anybody has deliberated on this idea. Thanks.

I've looked at a shared (collaborative) curation approach for things like sharing / finding client and industry news. Ideally you'd want something that operated outside / inside (i.e. across news sources both inside and outside of an organization). The technology that most appealed to me (and I worked with them briefly) is: www.Spundge.com which has publicly available notebooks that can have shared curation and annotation (plus the ability to publish out to a website and or use as a platform for the "story" drafting and publication.
I think there is merit in this approach - but would need to be outside / inside and integrated into other "social" capabilities within the firm. Gordon Vala-Webb

Srinivas I use Google sites (basically a wiki function and ability to add comments to each page) for student groups. Works very well and is intuitive to use including adding video etc (and is free). On 12 Feb 2014, at 6:52, Gordon Vala-Webb <gvalawebb@...> wrote:

Srinivas,
In terms of content curation in terms of an internal management approach, I haven't seen a lot that is effectively used on my client sites. The Department of Defense has a few tools that are wrapped up in an enterprise capability called MilSuite curation and strategic communication through milwire http://www.slideshare. net/milSuite/milsuite-overview there are other curation mechanisms but they are essentially at lower levels of the enterprise and targeted by domain. I don't think it is (tools per se) that you are after but if so here is a list http://www.prdaily.com/ Main/Articles/15_topnotch_ content_curation_tools_15378. aspx# that you may find helpful. I think there are a few approaches here more specifically target internal with market and domain alignment and market external with market and domain alignment along with general and strategic content feeds. I hope this helps! V/r, Howie |
