Sharing knowledge externally? #knowledge-sharing

Hamish Tacey

Hey all

I was wondering how you all share your organisation/company knowledge to external partners?

For example, do you classify documents or content that can be shared? Do you assign them certain access on your system? Do you have them sign non disclosure or whatever legal documents? do you assign your content creative commons tags?

Is there a list of basic criteria that needs to be established in order to safely and properly share knowledge with external stakeholders/partners?

Thank you :)
Hamish

Hello Hamish ,

it depends on the type of information to be shared; in principle there should be a dissemination policy to know if the information can be shared or not. the

alternative is to establish a non-disclosure agreement (in the framework of a cooperation for example) if it concerns sensitive information..

Hoping it can help.

Best regards,

Ulrich.

Hello Hamish,

For the knowledge management resource tool managed by my team, we manage accessibility by creating active directories/active groups and assigning appropriate levels within our content management system.

Hope that provides an additional perspective and possibility.

Hi Hamish,

In my company we created a Confidentiality and Archiving Policy for Knowledge Management Documents as part of the implementation of a Knowledge Management Framework.
This policy considers national legislation, the company's cultural characteristics and details relevant to the matter. I think it is an essential step in this matter.
Therefore, KM documents are classified and shared under this Policy.

Our main work is published: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Asystemiq.earth+*.pdf mostly in reports.
We also publish working models and databases, e.g. https://plasticiq.org/
So I'd say that these formats are clearly made for public availability from the start and signed-off by any relevant stakeholder parties.
We're very motivated by the common good.
Of course some other work is more entangled with client organisations' specifics and so must remain confidential.
I think this was the answer you wanted.
Of course, much more is exchanged through ongoing public events and private conversations and collaboration too.
